Deadly crash on Northern Marmara Highway kills three, injures one

A tragic accident on the Northern Marmara Highway in Turkey's Kocaeli region has resulted in three fatalities and one serious injury. The incident occurred when a light commercial vehicle veered off course and collided with a tunnel wall.

The vehicle, whose driver and license plate are yet to be identified, was traveling towards Ankara when it crashed inside the T4 Tunnel near the İzmit district. Emergency services, including health, fire, and gendarmerie teams, were dispatched to the scene following the report.

Tragically, three occupants of the vehicle lost their lives at the scene due to the impact. A fourth individual sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital by medical teams. The condition of the injured person is reported to be life-threatening.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. The Northern Marmara Highway is a major transportation artery connecting various parts of the region.
