For instance, during the Apollo 12 mission in November 1969, astronauts reported observing two unidentified phenomena. Lunar Module Pilot Alan L. Bean described seeing "particles" and luminous flashes moving around the spacecraft, initially mistaking them for water boiler particles before realizing they were evading the Moon's gravitational field.

This release, comprising 162 files, follows President Donald Trump's earlier statement that the materials would generate public interest.
