Venezuelan acting president Delcy Rodríguez commemorated Cuban leader Fidel Castro on the centenary of his birth, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to dignity, social justice, sovereignty, and Latin American unity. Rodríguez stated that Castro is among the leaders whose legacies endure beyond time and are etched in collective memory.

In a message posted on Telegram, Rodríguez described Castro as an "integral leader" who set a benchmark for "free peoples of the world." The ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) echoed these sentiments, asserting that the legacy of the Cuban Revolution's leader "remains alive."
