Detention of 'El Jardinero' Sparks Car and Business Fires in Nayarit; Bus Services Suspended from Puerto Vallarta

The arrest of a high-ranking Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) leader, identified as Audias Flores, nicknamed "El Jardinero," has triggered a wave of violence across Nayarit. The cartel leader is believed to be a potential successor to Nemesio Oseguera, "El Mencho."

In response to the arrest, armed individuals set fire to businesses and vehicles in the municipalities of Tecuala and Ahuacatlán. A significant fire engulfed a supermarket in Tecuala, threatening nearby homes. Authorities urged residents to stay indoors and await official confirmation that the situation is under control. State police and the Army have been deployed to the affected areas to provide security and assist emergency services.

Public transportation services have also been impacted, with bus departures from Puerto Vallarta to various destinations suspended until further notice. Roadblocks have been reported in several municipalities, disrupting connectivity within the state. The Mexican Army and Navy have increased patrols in Puerto Vallarta as a precautionary measure to prevent further incidents.
