A digital platform designed to revolutionize the pulse crop sector in Tanzania was launched in Babati, Manyara region, on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The initiative aims to bridge the information gap for farmers, connecting them directly with buyers and providing real-time market data.

"This system will facilitate the connection of all stakeholders in the pulse crop value chain, strengthen their cooperation, boost trade, and increase farmers' income," Andrew said during the launch.

This move is anticipated to enhance the quality of produce and foster trust between farmers and buyers, according to Athuman Karunde, Vice Chairman of the Tanzania Sunflower Farmers Association and a trader.
