DIY Achieves 16th Consecutive Unqualified Audit Opinion, Two Issues Require Prompt Resolution

Yogyakarta, a region renowned for its rich cultural heritage, has once again demonstrated its commitment to fiscal responsibility by achieving an unqualified audit opinion (WTP) for the 16th consecutive year. This remarkable feat, recognized by the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), underscores DIY's consistent dedication to transparency and accountability in managing regional finances.

Based on the overall issues and the implementation of the action plan from the follow-up of previous examination recommendations, BPK provides an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on the financial report of the DIY Regional Government for 2025.

The early submission of the unaudited financial report, a first for any province in Indonesia, highlights DIY's proactive approach and strong governance. BPK Director General Widhi Widayat's acknowledgment of this commitment is a testament to the region's diligent efforts in maintaining sound financial practices.

However, the WTP opinion comes with a call for prompt action on two key issues. The management of the regional rice reserves requires immediate attention, particularly concerning the cooperation agreements with third parties and the accurate recording of inventory. Additionally, the unutilized funds allocated for students affected by hydrometeorological disasters need to be disbursed efficiently, ensuring that aid reaches those in need without delay.

BPK believes that the DIY Regional Government has provided all information as contained in the representation letter. And the DIY Regional Government believes that the BPK examiners are not looking for faults and carry out their duties based on state financial examination standards.

From our perspective in Yogyakarta, this consistent achievement is a source of regional pride. It reflects the hard work of local government officials and the collaborative spirit between the administration and the BPK. While we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize the importance of addressing the BPK's recommendations swiftly. This ensures that the trust placed in DIY's financial management remains strong and that public funds are utilized effectively for the benefit of all residents. The focus now shifts to resolving these issues within the stipulated 60-day timeframe, reinforcing Yogyakarta's status as a model of good governance.
