A new musical celebrating the life and career of Dolly Parton, titled "Dolly: A True Original Musical," is slated to open on Broadway in January 2027. The production will maintain its previously scheduled dates, moving forward despite the recent news of the iconic singer's passing.

Previews for the show are set to begin on December 7, 2026, at the St. James Theatre in New York City, with the official premiere on January 19, 2027, which would have been Parton's 81st birthday. The musical aims to offer a personal look into Parton's life, drawing from her own words and experiences.
