Domestic dispute ends in shooting, mother-in-law kills attacker with knife

A shocking incident of domestic violence and its violent aftermath unfolded in Istanbul's Kağıthane district, leaving a trail of tragedy. The events began when Rüzgar Eser, reportedly under a restraining order, entered the home of his estranged wife, Nurşin E., escalating a dispute into a violent confrontation.

Tragically, Rüzgar Eser produced an unlicensed firearm and shot Nurşin E. multiple times in the head and neck. The severity of her injuries necessitated immediate hospitalization. In the ensuing chaos, Eser also began assaulting his sister-in-law and mother-in-law, Delal A.

In a desperate act of self-defense or intervention, Delal A. retrieved a knife from the kitchen and fatally stabbed Rüzgar Eser in the chest. Police and medical teams responded to the scene, where Rüzgar Eser was pronounced dead. Nurşin E. was rushed to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Training and Research Hospital for urgent medical care. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities examining the unlicensed firearm found at the scene.
