DPD Lietuva Plans to Add 35 Electric Cars This Year, Expanding Fleet to 130

DPD Lietuva is set to significantly expand its electric vehicle fleet, planning to acquire 35 new electric cars this year. This acquisition will bring the total number of electric vehicles to 130 by the end of 2026. The company stated that the majority of this expansion will occur within the first three quarters of the year.

The fleet expansion will primarily focus on major Lithuanian cities, including Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Marijampolė, Alytus, and Utena. No expansion into other cities is planned for this phase.

Jurgita Čestauskaitė, DPD Lietuva's sustainability manager, highlighted the strategic importance of electric vehicles in reducing CO2 emissions and fulfilling the company's sustainability commitments. "The use of electric vehicles is one of the main directions of our strategy, helping to reduce CO2 emissions quite rapidly and implement sustainability commitments. At the same time, it allows for reducing air pollution in cities," she said.

Since 2021, DPD Lietuva has delivered 8.3 million parcels using electric vehicles, avoiding an estimated 553 tons of CO2 emissions. With the fleet reaching 130 vehicles by year-end, an additional 1.5 million parcels are expected to be delivered, avoiding approximately 100 more tons of CO2. The company has ambitious long-term goals, aiming for electric vehicles to comprise 85% of its delivery fleet by 2030 and 100% by 2035.
