DPP Boycotts Presidential Impeachment Hearing, Calls it 'Political Performance'

The DPP caucus stated that the KMT and TPP are obstructing crucial government budgets and military procurement while simultaneously pursuing this impeachment, which they believe is politically motivated. The hearing, which included legal scholars invited by the KMT and TPP, saw arguments that the President violated constitutional loyalty and betrayed the people. However, the DPP dismissed these claims, highlighting the high constitutional bar for impeachment and predicting its failure. The DPP also criticized the opposition for hypocrisy, pointing to past calls for reconciliation that are now contrasted with aggressive political action.
