Drunk Soldiers Steal Armored Vehicle, Cause Damage, and Are Arrested

Two members of the British army have been arrested following an incident where they allegedly stole a 15-ton Bulldog armored vehicle and caused extensive property damage at Swinton Barracks in Perham Down. The soldiers reportedly took the heavy-duty vehicle for a joyride around 1 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, after spending time socializing outside the base.

According to reports, the Bulldog, a tracked armored personnel carrier designed for difficult terrain, was driven through the barracks. During its uncontrolled journey, it collided with multiple parked cars, resulting in severe damage to some vehicles and the complete destruction of two others. Footage circulating on social media shows the imposing vehicle navigating a narrow road between parked cars, leaving a trail of destruction.

Remarkably, no injuries were reported during the incident, and the armored vehicle itself sustained no damage. In a peculiar turn of events, the driver reportedly parked the Bulldog in a designated parking spot after the destructive spree before returning to their barracks.

The Royal Military Police apprehended one soldier suspected of driving the vehicle in the early morning hours, while a second soldier was detained in connection with the incident. The British Army confirmed the arrests, stating that they expect the highest standards of conduct from their personnel and will provide no further comment due to the ongoing investigation.
