Dual Prosecutorial Intervention for Kypseli and Petralona

Athens prosecutors have launched dual interventions concerning a building collapse in Petralona and structural damage in Kypseli. The head of the Athens First Instance Court Prosecutors' Office has ordered urgent investigations into both matters.

Following a morning meeting involving the prosecutor, the Mayor of Athens, and the Regional Governor, a decision was made to clear the debris from the collapsed building in Petralona. An official order has been issued to the relevant municipal service to expedite the removal of rubble. The Attica region will provide assistance if needed to facilitate the work of the court-appointed experts tasked with determining the cause of the collapse.

Concurrently, an urgent preliminary investigation has been ordered into reports of cracks appearing in buildings in Kypseli, allegedly caused by ongoing Metro construction work. This investigation aims to ascertain if any criminal offenses have occurred and if the construction activities pose a danger.
