Dubai Police Increase Road Patrols as Schools Reopen

Dubai Police are increasing their presence around schools as students return for the new academic year. Traffic teams and patrols will cover roads, intersections and school areas during both morning and afternoon peak periods.

The deployment forms part of the “A Day Without Accidents” initiative. Brigadier Musabbah Saeed Al Ghafli said officers would focus on locations with heavy vehicle and school-bus traffic, particularly school entrances and exits where congestion can build quickly.

The return to school requires greater attention and patience from all road users.

Police urged parents to leave home early, use designated drop-off areas and avoid speeding, double parking or stopping in the middle of the road. They also advised adults to accompany young children to school gates and ensure children leave vehicles on the pavement side.

Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan reminded motorists to stop when a school bus extends its STOP sign and keep at least five metres away. Students should wait until buses stop fully, move away from the vehicle after getting off and use designated crossings. Dubai Police said student safety depends on cooperation among parents, drivers, schools and security staff.
