Economist Gediminas Rainys, Former LPK Vice-President, Dies

Gediminas Rainys, a respected economist and former vice-president of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK), has died. His passing is mourned by colleagues and organizations across Lithuania's economic and industrial sectors.

During his tenure leading the LPK's executive directorate from 2009 to 2015, Rainys played a key role in strengthening the organization and uniting Lithuania's business community. His contributions were instrumental in advancing the interests of Lithuanian industry and fostering social dialogue.

Rainys's career also included significant public service roles. He served as Deputy Minister and Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and acted as an advisor to the Mayor of Vilnius on economic affairs. The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, along with the LPK and other business associations, expressed their sincere condolences to Rainys's family, friends, and colleagues. They acknowledged his competence, responsible approach, and substantial contributions to Lithuania's economic development, which earned him widespread respect.
