Egypt, Pakistan discuss efforts to reduce regional tensions

Egypt and Pakistan are engaging in diplomatic discussions aimed at de-escalating regional tensions and fostering stability. The foreign ministers of both nations held a phone call to exchange views on the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.

During the conversation, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar stressed the critical need to reduce tensions, cease military operations, and prioritize political and diplomatic pathways to resolve regional crises. They committed to maintaining close coordination to support these efforts.

The Palestinian issue was a significant focus of their discussion. Minister Abdelatty voiced deep concern over the deteriorating conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories. He condemned ongoing Israeli actions in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, warning that such activities jeopardize peace prospects and the viability of a two-state solution.

Furthermore, Abdelatty highlighted the importance of implementing all phases of the US peace plan for Gaza. He stated this is crucial for sustaining a ceasefire, ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and creating the necessary conditions for advancing the peace process.
