Egypt to see temporary drop in temperatures: Egyptian Meteorological Authority

Egypt's Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a temporary decrease in temperatures across northern regions, including Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, on Monday. However, southern Upper Egypt is expected to endure very hot and humid conditions.

The weather in northern Egypt, encompassing Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, will be hot and humid during the day. In contrast, southern Upper Egypt will experience intensely hot and humid weather. Evenings and early mornings are predicted to be slightly hot and humid nationwide.

Maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo are expected to reach around 35C, while the northwestern coast will see temperatures near 29C. Upper Egypt could reach 36C, but southern Upper Egypt is forecast to hit a scorching 44C. The perceived temperature will feel even higher due to increased humidity.

Weather maps suggest a possibility of light rain in parts of Halayeb and the far south of the Eastern Desert. Occasional wind activity is anticipated across most areas, potentially stirring up sand and dust, particularly in Halayeb. Maritime navigation on some Red Sea and Gulf of Suez coasts may face disruptions due to wind speeds of 50-60 kilometers per hour and waves reaching two to three meters.
