Eight Dead in Michigan: Father Suspected of Shooting Family

Authorities in Michigan are investigating the deaths of an eight-member family found in a burned-out home, with evidence pointing to a murder-suicide. The 47-year-old father is believed to have fatally shot his 39-year-old wife and their six children before taking his own life, according to the local sheriff's office.

The grim discovery was made last Friday in Grand Haven Township, near Lake Michigan, after the house fire. Autopsies confirmed that the father was responsible for the deaths of his family. The victims included four biological sons and two adopted daughters, aged five to 15. Several family pets also perished in the blaze.

While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest it was deliberately set in multiple locations after the killings.
