Ekiti court jails three kidnappers 97 years for abducting Naval officer

The defendants on 6th June, 2022 at Ayede Ekiti did conspire to rob one Ajibade Adeleke of N15,000, on 20th December, 2022 at Itapaji Ekiti; did rob one Lt Cdr Victoria Eisape (retd) of N40,000 and on the same date, time and place, did kidnap the victim.

The sentencing, which includes 40 years for Agbogbo, 25 for Olamilekan, and 32 for Gabriel, reflects the severity of their actions, particularly the abduction of retired Naval officer Lt Cdr Victoria Eisape and another victim, Ajibade Adeleke. The court's rejection of the defendants' attempts to retract their confessions highlights the robust nature of the prosecution's case. The recovery of firearms and ammunition further solidifies the conviction, demonstrating a clear pattern of violent criminal activity.

Also, on 6th April, 2023, at Iyemero Ekiti, three long-barreled guns, 33 live cartridges and 56 expended cartridges without a license were found in their possession.
