Elderly man with dementia found safe after three-hour police search in Seoul

A 70-year-old man suffering from dementia, who had left his home without his mobile phone, was safely located and returned home by police after a three-hour search. The incident occurred on June 10th when the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency received a report from the man's wife.

Officers immediately began searching the area around the man's residence and places he frequented. The search scope was progressively widened to include nearby alleys and roads as they tried to anticipate his possible movements.

After three hours, police found the man standing alone in an alley approximately 3 kilometers away from his home. He appeared to be exhausted from wandering for an extended period. Police confirmed his health and safety before escorting him back home via a patrol car.

Upon seeing her husband safe in the back of the patrol car, his wife, who had been distraught, was overcome with emotion. The police's diligent efforts ensured the safe return of the elderly man.
