Elderly Orang Asli Woman Walks 4km to Vote in Negeri Sembilan Election

Age was no barrier for Limah Ujang, a 68-year-old Orang Asli woman from the Temuan tribe, as she undertook a journey of about four kilometers on foot to reach a polling station for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.

Limah Ujang shared her enthusiasm for participating in the election, stating she woke up at 6 a.m. to prepare for her vote. "I feel excited because I can fulfill my responsibility as a voter, and this is the third time I am voting," she said.

Her child provided assistance in preparing for the voting process, teaching her the steps involved. This support ensured that Limah Ujang could confidently cast her ballot.

Beyond her determination to vote, Limah Ujang's appearance also drew attention. She wore a traditional 'telepok' cloth on her head, which is part of her daily attire, adding a cultural element to her presence at the polling station.
