Ella Picks Ziana Zain for Homecoming Concert, Citing Deep Respect and Sisterhood Spirit

Malaysian rock queen Ella revealed that her choice of renowned diva Ziana Zain as a special guest for her "Konsert Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen Ella: Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru" was not random. The concert is scheduled for August 22 at Setia SPICE Arena in Penang.

Ella explained that the decision stemmed from discussions with her organizing team, acknowledging the long-standing good relationship and respect between them. "We usually discuss as a team to decide who is suitable to be invited. But they will always ask me who I would like to share the stage with," Ella said.

"For me, Ziana is not only a great singer, but we have collaborated before. I am also one of her fans, and we are good friends. So I feel this combination will offer something special to the audience," she added. Ella made these remarks at a press conference announcing changes to the concert's date and location in Kuala Lumpur.

The singer of "Pengemis Cinta" also stated the concert would be a platform to celebrate two influential women in the local music industry. When asked if Ziana's selection was due to Ella's frequent duets with male singers, Ella agreed. "You could say that. Before this, I shared the stage a lot with male singers and have gone through that experience. This time, I want to present something different," she said.

"We want to celebrate the spirit of women. I have never truly shared a stage with a female friend on such a large scale. So I feel it's time to do something different and interesting," Ella stated. Ella's husband and manager, Captain Azhar Ghazali, described Ziana's presence as an added value that would provide a new experience for fans. "We previously surprised fans with Dayang Nurfaizah in Singapore. This time, we chose Ziana Zain because she is a very big name in the industry. When two big names like Ella and Ziana Zain combine on one stage, something unique will surely emerge. We want to offer something different to the audience and appreciate the works of both singers that night," he said.

Azhar also mentioned Ziana's positive reaction to the invitation. "She was very enthusiastic and, at the same time, a bit surprised to be part of this concert. We see this as an opportunity to create history together and give fans an unforgettable moment," he said. Ella did not rule out the possibility of performing Ziana's popular songs during the concert.
