Erafone Run 2026 Returns to Yogyakarta, Blending Sport, Exploration, and Community

The Erafone Run 2026 is set to return to Yogyakarta on October 31, 2026, with its fourth edition taking place at the Merapi Volcano Museum. This year's event marks a significant shift, moving from the southern coastal areas to the northern region, closer to the foothills of Mount Merapi.

Samuel Arief Gunawan, Head of Marketing for Erajaya Digital Region 3, highlighted the event's consistency as a testament to Erafone's commitment to runners in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas. He described the Erafone Run as more than just a sports activity, evolving into a space for community connection and growth. "We want to support an active lifestyle through enjoyable and relevant experiences for the community," Gunawan stated, viewing the event's four-year run as an appreciation for the positive reception from runners, communities, and partners.

Gunawan further elaborated on the event's evolution into a "sportainment" experience, merging sports with community engagement, technology, entertainment, and lifestyle. With an anticipated 5,000 participants, Erafone Run Jogja aims to be a highly anticipated and prestigious event for running enthusiasts not only in Yogyakarta but across Indonesia.

Entering its fourth year, we see the consistency of this event as a form of appreciation for the positive response from runners, communities, partners, and all parties who have supported Erafone Run.

Yoas Muliawan, Project Manager for Erafone Run 2026, explained the narrative behind the location change. "Each edition, we strive to have a different story and a different place experience. This year, we move from the southern coast towards the northern area, near the foothills of Mount Merapi," Muliawan said. This journey is inspired by Yogyakarta's cultural imaginary axis, which connects the southern region with the Merapi area. "We want participants to come to run, but go home with a story about Jogja, the community, and an experience rarely found in other events," he added.

With approximately 5,000 participants this year, we hope Erafone Run Jogja will not only be an event awaited every year but also a prestigious event for running enthusiasts in Yogyakarta and Indonesia.

Race Director Roostian Gamananda outlined the race details, with the 10K starting at 4:00 PM WIB and the 5K at 4:15 PM WIB. Notably, there is no cut-off time (COT) for this year's race, emphasizing the experience and safety for all participants.
