Essential Services Sector enhances readiness to address oil spill impacts in Masirah, Duqm

Oman's Essential Services Sector is bolstering its preparedness to address the potential impacts of an oil spill in the coastal areas of Masirah and Duqm.

Dr. Mansour Talib Al Hinai, Chairman of the Authority for Public Services Regulation and head of the sector, conducted a field visit to both the Wilayat of Masirah in the South A’Sharqiyah Governorate and the Wilayat of Duqm in the Al Wusta Governorate. His visit aimed to review and follow up on the measures being taken by the water and waste management sub-sectors.

The sector's efforts include a series of meetings and a thorough review of the precautionary measures already in place. These actions are designed to ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential services, aligning with the requirements of the current situation and mitigating any potential risks associated with an oil spill.
