Europe's Most Relaxing Destinations for 2026: Lefkada and Kefalonia Lead the Pack

This study, which meticulously examined over 160 international destinations, considered crucial elements such as tourist density, climate, natural landscapes, lifestyle pace, safety, accessibility, and cost.

The findings underscore Europe's enduring appeal for travelers seeking peace and quiet. Eight of the top ten positions are occupied by European destinations, with Greece showcasing a remarkable dominance. Islands like Alonissos, Kefalonia, Peloponnese, Skopelos, and Lefkada have been recognized for their serene environments, reinforcing Greece's reputation as a prime destination for those yearning for tranquility, natural beauty, and authentic experiences away from the hustle and bustle.

For Romanians, who frequently favor Greece for their vacations, this ranking comes as no surprise. The familiar charm and peaceful atmosphere of these islands resonate deeply, offering a perfect escape. The inclusion of only two non-European destinations—Koh Yao Noi in Thailand and El Hierro in Spain—alongside the Greek island of Paxos, further solidifies Europe's position as the go-to continent for a truly relaxing getaway.
