European Social Democrats Federations Support New Party

The European Social Democrat People's Associations Federation (HDF) has declared its support for the newly established YENİ Parti (New Party) in Turkey. This party was founded by 91 CHP members of parliament under the leadership of Özgür Özel.

We greet the establishment of the New Party, which we believe will be the leading force in Turkey's struggle for democracy, with great excitement and hope as the European Social Democrat People's Associations Federation (HDF), the umbrella organization of social democratic organizations in Europe.

The HDF, which serves as the umbrella organization for social democratic groups in Europe, stated its "great excitement and hope" for the YENİ Parti's founding. The federation believes the new party will become a leading force in Turkey's fight for democracy.

HDF has always prioritized the democratic will of the people in Turkey, the demand for change from the grassroots, and free, fair, and participatory election processes.

Consequently, the HDF announced that it accepts the YENİ Parti as its sister party in Turkey.

In this direction, we announce to the public that we accept the New Party as our sister party from now on in Turkey.

The federation pledged to walk "shoulder to shoulder" with YENİ Parti's General Chairman Özgür Özel in the struggle for democracy, freedom, and social justice. The HDF expressed its conviction that democratic transformation in Turkey can only be achieved through a strong will rising from the grassroots, a will they see embodied in the YENİ Parti. The European social democratic organizations declared their commitment to stand by the YENİ Parti in every step that contributes to Turkey's democratic future.
