Eusebio Ayala successfully celebrates the XVI edition of the National Chipa Festival in homage to Luis Alberto del Paraná

The city of Eusebio Ayala hosted its successful 16th National Chipa Festival, a vibrant celebration of tradition, music, dance, and gastronomy. Held in Plaza Independencia with free admission, the festival paid homage to the renowned Paraguayan artist Luis Alberto del Paraná.

The event brought together families, visitors, entrepreneurs, producers, musicians, and artists, aiming to preserve the cultural identity of Eusebio Ayala, a city known for its chipa-making traditions. Highlights included captivating dance performances honoring Luis Alberto del Paraná's legacy and a moving tribute to Idalina Quintana, a long-standing chipera recognized for her contribution to maintaining the tradition.

Musicians and groups competed for the prestigious "Golden Chipa Ring" and "Silver Chipa Ring" awards, with participants like 4TreintayDos from Itauguá, Banda Pu Rory from Asunción, and Los Sureños from Misiones vying for the top honors. The jury included esteemed musicians Hernán Acosta and René Benítez.

Gastronomy was central to the festival, with tastings from traditional local chiperías such as María Ana, Juan Ramón Ayala, Santa Rosa, Santo Domingo, Chipería Leticia, and Ña Nena. An entrepreneur expo also provided a platform for local producers and artisans to display their creativity and products. The festival also included performances by the Coro Niños Mártires de Acosta Ñu, Barrero Poty, and various dance academies, alongside a commemoration of the 90th anniversary of Escuela Alberdi.
