Ex-Boyfriend Accused of Attempted Murder After Stabbing in Upper Austria

A violent incident in Upper Austria has left a 30-year-old woman in serious condition after she was allegedly attacked by her 37-year-old ex-boyfriend. The man is accused of attempting to murder her following a dispute, with investigators citing jealousy as a likely motive.

The suspect, who was found to have a blood alcohol content exceeding 2 per mille, reportedly confessed to having murderous intent during initial statements. The attack occurred Friday morning when the man allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend twice in the back and once in the upper arm with a kitchen knife. The couple had a long-term relationship that had recently ended, and the victim was believed to have a new partner.

The injured woman managed to escape to a neighbor's property, but the suspect allegedly pursued her, still armed with the knife.
