Ex-Deputy Police Chief Questions Basis for Corruption Summons

Former Deputy National Police Chief Oegroseno appeared at the National Police Headquarters on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to respond to a summons for clarification. The summons from the National Police's Directorate for the Eradication of Corruption relates to alleged corruption in the process of granting land for the Police Women's School in Cakung and the acquisition of replacement land for Sespim in Lembang.

Oegroseno publicly questioned the legal basis for the summons, pointing out that the transactions in question took place in 2011, over 15 years ago. He argued that any investigation should be based on an inspection report from the Internal Affairs Division (Itwasum) Polri, rather than an information report (LI) as cited in the summons. "If it's from 2011, then there must be an inspection report from the Internal Affairs Division (Itwasum) Polri. Right? But the basis here uses LI, an information report," he told reporters.

He confirmed he brought no documents, stating his attendance was solely for clarification and that he intended to inquire about the specific agenda of the clarification meeting. The letter he received indicated the investigation was based on an Information Report (LI) dated June 30, 2026, with the investigation commencing on July 2, 2026. A summons for clarification was sent on July 16, 2026, for July 23, but Oegroseno requested a postponement.

Oegroseno also raised concerns about whether the investigation was supported by audits from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) or the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP). He questioned why policies enacted more than 15 years ago were now being investigated as alleged corruption. Oegroseno arrived at the headquarters in full retired uniform, accompanied by a shoulder bag.
