Federal High Court starts relocation to Lagos Bourdillon Road complex

The Federal High Court's Lagos Judicial Division is undergoing a phased relocation from its current premises in Ikoyi to a newly constructed court complex located at No. 1B, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi. The move commenced on July 31, 2026, following the completion of the modern facility.

This relocation is designed to enhance judicial administration and provide improved facilities for judges, legal practitioners, litigants, and the general public. The Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Yahaya Shafa, announced the phased movement, emphasizing its aim for a smooth transition with minimal disruption to ongoing court proceedings and administrative operations.

The initial phase includes the relocation of vacation courts 7 and 12, along with Courts 2, 3, 4, and 5. Offices of the Chief Registrar, Deputy Chief Registrars, and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process (ELRP) are also part of this first stage. Subsequent phases will see the remaining courts and offices moved to the new complex.

Legal professionals, litigants, and the public are advised to stay informed about the relocation schedule and verify the venues for their court appearances and official engagements. The Federal High Court plans to issue further announcements regarding the movement of the remaining judicial functions.
