Fernando de la Mora Ends Deportivo Obrero's Copa Paraguay Run

Asunción's Fernando de la Mora has secured a spot in the Copa Paraguay round of 16 after a decisive 3-0 victory over Deportivo Obrero of Capitán Franco. The match, held at the Unión Agrícola stadium in San Estanislao, saw the team from Paraguay's Intermedia Division assert its dominance.

Sebastián Chaparro opened the scoring for Fernando de la Mora in the sixth minute. The lead was extended by Claudio Orquiola, who scored twice in quick succession in the 66th and 68th minutes, capitalizing on Deportivo Obrero's apparent physical fatigue.

Deportivo Obrero, the departmental champion of Amambay, had put up a fight to reach this stage of the competition. They previously defeated Deportivo Ñepytyvó in a penalty shootout and then overcame Olimpia de Itá in regular time. However, they could not overcome the challenge posed by Fernando de la Mora.

In the previous round, Fernando de la Mora had demonstrated its strength with an overwhelming 11-0 victory against Atlético Colegiales. Their next opponent in the round of 16 will be determined by the match between Libertad and Tacuary.
