Fiji voter roll exceeds 723,000 ahead of General Election

Fiji has surpassed 723,000 registered voters as the nation gears up for its next General Election. The Fijian Elections Office announced a total of 723,771 registered voters, comprising 362,438 males and 361,333 females.

The Central Division leads with the highest number of registered voters at 313,135, followed by the Western Division with 270,175. The Northern Division has 102,304 registered voters, and the Eastern Division has 25,266. Additionally, 12,891 registered voters reside overseas.

Recent figures highlight a notable influx of younger voters onto the electoral roll. There are 30,959 registered voters between the ages of 18 and 20, with a slight majority of 15,935 being females. The largest demographic group consists of voters aged 31 to 40, totaling 163,459 individuals (83,378 males and 80,081 females). The 21 to 30 age group follows closely with 146,950 voters (73,724 males and 73,226 females).

These latest statistics emerge as Fiji intensifies preparations for the General Election, which is anticipated to occur anytime between now and February 6, 2027. The Fijian Elections Office actively urges eligible Fijians to register, verify their details, and ensure they are ready to exercise their democratic right.
