Fire Erupts on 11th Floor of Jakarta Revenue Agency Building, Spreads to Roof

A fire engulfed the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bappenda) building on Jalan Abdul Muis in Central Jakarta on Friday night, August 7, 2026. The blaze reportedly began on the 11th floor and quickly spread upwards, reaching the building's roof.

Emergency services were deployed rapidly, with over 100 firefighters and 20 fire trucks battling the flames. As of early Saturday morning, the fire was still active, consuming parts of the building's facade and spreading to lower floors.

The initial information we received was that the fire started on the 11th floor.

Initial reports from the Jakarta Pusat Fire and Rescue Service indicate that the fire originated on the 11th floor, which was reportedly undergoing renovation. However, officials stressed that the definitive cause remains under investigation pending a forensic examination.

Authorities have cordoned off the area, with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police deploying 125 personnel and the local military command providing 50 personnel to secure the site and manage the surrounding environment. The fire affected an area of approximately 30,417 square meters.
