Fire guts plaza, destroys shops in Kano

Tragedy struck Kano early Wednesday morning as a fire ravaged a business plaza on Airport Road, causing significant damage. The inferno, which broke out in the Fagge Local Government Area, specifically impacted two shops on the ground floor specializing in hospital equipment.

Upon receiving the report, firefighters from the agency’s headquarters and other stations within the metropolis were immediately mobilised to the scene of the incident.

The Kano State Fire Service received the alarm shortly after 4 a.m. and swiftly dispatched multiple firefighting units. Responders battled to control the flames engulfing the two-storey structure, working diligently to prevent further spread and minimize losses.

The fire service said two hospital equipment shops located on the ground floor of the plaza were affected by the inferno.

While the immediate response contained the blaze, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
