First-time participant Go Jae-wook leads Daegu Sangwon High to quarterfinals in Golden Lion Flag tournament

Daegu Sangwon High School's journey in the 80th Golden Lion Flag National High School Baseball Tournament is off to a strong start, with a decisive 9-5 victory over Gyeonggi Aviation High School propelling them into the quarterfinals. Leading the charge was outfielder Go Jae-wook, a third-year student who has poured his heart into this tournament, his first and potentially last.

Go Jae-wook's performance was instrumental in the win. He delivered a crucial two-run single in the second inning, igniting a five-run surge that his team never relinquished. His two hits, one RBI, and two runs scored were a testament to his dedication and improved skill, especially considering his path to this point.

Unlike many of his peers, Go Jae-wook did not participate in the Golden Lion Flag tournament in previous years. This period of intense physical conditioning, including daily weight training and a five-meal-a-day diet, allowed him to gain 7kg and significantly enhance his strength and performance.
