Five Treated After Building Fire in Buenos Aires; Separate Traffic Incident Reported

A fire on the second floor of a building in Buenos Aires on Monday morning necessitated medical attention for five people. Two of the individuals, suffering from smoke inhalation, were transferred to the Hospital Fernández for further evaluation, according to SAME (the city's emergency medical service).

The blaze occurred at Salguero 1900, in a multi-unit building located near the Alto Palermo shopping center. Firefighters responded to the scene, battling the flames which had spread throughout the second floor. The building was evacuated in an orderly fashion during the operation. Residents of apartment 2C, a man and a woman, were taken to the hospital, while two men from apartment 2B received oxygen assistance from paramedics at the site.

This incident follows another fire reported Sunday morning in the Villa Urquiza neighborhood, where two people were treated by SAME after a building caught fire. In a separate event, a 43-year-old man was arrested in the Mataderos neighborhood after a traffic accident. He tested positive for alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of 1.70 grams per liter, after crashing his vehicle into parked cars, causing a chain reaction collision.
