Flávio Bolsonaro Claims Attempted Fraudulent Affiliation with PT

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro has stated that he, too, was targeted by a fraudulent attempt to affiliate him with the Workers' Party (PT). The senator, who is a presidential candidate, expressed his offense at the action, asserting his complete lack of affiliation with the party. He reported receiving an official email from the PT on Thursday, which he perceived as an insult.

During a live broadcast with other political figures, including federal deputy Alfredo Gaspar and economist Daniella Marques, Bolsonaro recounted the incident. The conversation included lighthearted remarks from colleagues, with one joking that his candidacy was so strong that even opponents wanted to affiliate with him. Another colleague suggested that the PT was vying for his father, Jair Bolsonaro.

This alleged fraudulent affiliation attempt with the PT comes shortly after a separate incident where Flávio Bolsonaro was mistakenly registered with the Missão party. That situation required intervention from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to correct his affiliation back to the Liberal Party (PL). Bolsonaro dismissed claims that his office initiated the Missão party affiliation, calling the emails received "spam" due to the party's obscurity.

Adding to the complexity, Bolsonaro mentioned that one of the "spam" emails from the Missão party included a payment request, suggesting a further layer of deception. The broadcast also touched upon other political matters, including the dissemination of his government plan should he be elected.
