Flood sweeps away cargo vehicles in Timure, transport workers reported missing

The Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation has reported extensive damage to cargo vehicles, transport businesses, and workers following a flood that entered Rasuwa from the Tibetan side of China.

According to the federation, numerous cargo vehicles parked at the Timure customs yard were swept away by the floodwaters. Preliminary reports also indicate considerable damage to cargo vehicles located in the Betrawati area.

The federation stated that some vehicle operators and workers affiliated with its member organizations are currently out of contact. They have urged these individuals to stay in touch with their respective organizations and to report to security authorities if possible.

With the flood risk still present, the federation has issued a strong appeal to transport operators, workers, and the general public to exercise extreme caution near rivers and adjacent areas. They are advised to adhere to instructions from security agencies.

Furthermore, the federation has called upon transport businesses and other stakeholders to provide support for ongoing rescue operations and disaster-risk reduction efforts wherever feasible.
