Football: Inter Fights for Surprise Draw in Turkey, Qualification in Sight

Finnish football club FC Inter achieved a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Turkish side Başakşehir in Istanbul, putting them in a strong position for the second leg of their Europa Conference League second qualifying round tie.

Inter took a shock lead in the 15th minute through a well-taken goal by Clinton Jephta. Following a quick transition, Jasse Tuominen provided the assist, and Jephta found the back of the net with an unstoppable shot.

However, Inter's lead was short-lived. Başakşehir equalized in the 54th minute with a goal from Emin Bayram, leveling the score and setting up a tense second half. Neither team managed to score further, leaving the tie finely balanced.

The second leg is scheduled to take place in Turku, Finland, on Thursday, July 30. The winner of this matchup will advance to the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League, where they will face the victor of the tie between FC Vaduz of Liechtenstein and Atletic Escaldes of Andorra. Inter will need to navigate four qualifying rounds to reach the league stage of the competition.
