Forest fire in Bolu, Turkey: Aerial and ground response continues

Emergency teams are battling a forest fire that erupted in the Göynük district of Bolu, Turkey. The blaze, which started in the forest area near Aksaklar village around 5:30 PM, has mobilized a significant response.

Firefighting efforts are underway with 94 personnel actively working to contain and extinguish the fire. They are supported by three helicopters providing aerial support, alongside 8 fire engines, 10 initial response vehicles, and other service vehicles. The operation involves a coordinated approach from both air and ground to combat the flames effectively.

Adding to the response, local villagers have joined the efforts, demonstrating community solidarity. Residents are using their tractors, equipped with water tankers, to transport water to the fire zone, aiding the professional teams in their critical work. The combined efforts aim to bring the situation under control and fully extinguish the fire.
