Former Deputy Police Chief Oegroseno to Attend Clarification on Sepolwan Land Case

Former Deputy National Police Chief Komjen (Ret.) Oegroseno is set to appear today, July 30, for a clarification session with the Corruption Eradication Directorate (Kortas Tipidkor) of the National Police concerning the Sepolwan land procurement case.

Oegroseno had previously requested a postponement from the initial July 23 meeting due to a prior commitment. He confirmed his attendance for the 10 AM session. The Directorate had issued the invitation for clarification, not a summons, to gather information related to the case.

Head of Kortas Tipidkor, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, reiterated that the invitation is not an attempt to criminalize Oegroseno. He explained that the investigation stems from a public complaint alleging criminal acts within the Sepolwan land procurement process. The inquiry's purpose is to ascertain whether the events constitute corruption, adhering strictly to legal procedures.

Suharyanto further noted that inviting individuals for clarification is a standard investigative procedure outlined in Article 16, paragraph 1, letters c and j of the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). This process is part of the broader investigation to gather necessary information.
