Former Gorontalo Official Named Suspect in Command Center Corruption Case

Prosecutors in Gorontalo have named a former official as a suspect in a corruption case involving the procurement of a command center video wall. The suspect, identified as MR, previously served as the Head of the Gorontalo Provincial Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency in 2022.

The investigation centers on the procurement of a command center video wall, which had a budget of Rp 5 billion sourced from the regional budget (APBD) in 2022. Investigators found irregularities in the budgeting process and alleged price manipulation for the estimated temporary price (HPS).

Investigators also discovered discrepancies in the specifications of the goods received by the agency compared to the contract documents. Furthermore, they identified overpricing or markups on the items listed in the contract.

This new suspect joins three others previously named in the case: HD, the Director of PT Priok Integrasi Universal (the provider); RP, the commitment-making official at the Gorontalo Provincial Communication and Informatics Agency; and AB, the Operational Director of PT Priok Integrasi Universal. The investigation has involved interviewing 21 witnesses, consulting three experts, and collecting 52 documents and three mobile phones.
