Jakarta court dismisses fake diploma case against President Widodo

A Jakarta court has dismissed a case alleging that Indonesian President Joko Widodo used a fake diploma, a significant development for the defendant, Tifauziah Tyassuma, widely known as Dr. Tifa.

The East Jakarta District Court's panel of judges accepted the defense's objection, ruling that the prosecutor's indictment was vague and therefore void. "We declare the resistance from the defendant's legal team accepted," stated presiding judge Christina Endarwati. The court ordered the case file to be returned to the prosecutor and stipulated that the legal costs be borne by the state.

Dr. Tifa expressed her gratitude for the ruling, seeing it as a triumph for justice and truth. "We are very grateful for all that has been done so that justice and truth can stand tall in this country," she said. She emphasized that the decision strengthens her resolve to pursue the truth regarding the authenticity of Jokowi's diploma, hoping to prevent similar issues with future leaders.

This case is separate from that of KMRT Roy Suryo, a colleague of Tifa's, who is also facing legal proceedings related to the same allegations but is currently in the pre-trial phase.
