Four Miaoli Students Honored with Presidential Education and Perseverance Awards

Four students from Miaoli County have been recognized for their exceptional resilience and academic dedication, receiving prestigious educational awards. Three students from Tai'an Junior High School and elementary schools, Li Xiaolong, Zheng Enhong, and Pan Zuping, were honored with the Ministry of Education's "Presidential Education Award." Additionally, Yao Youmi from National Zhunan Senior High School received the "Spirit of Perseverance Award" for his unwavering commitment to learning despite significant challenges.

County Magistrate Zhong Dongjin personally met and commended the students, presenting them with awards and prize money. He praised their strength in facing difficulties and their inspiring progress. Li Xiaolong, despite facing major family changes, maintained an optimistic outlook and excelled in academics, indigenous languages, and sports. Zheng Enhong overcame hearing impairments to achieve outstanding results in language and sports competitions. Pan Zuping shouldered family responsibilities from a young age, pursuing his baseball dreams while boarding away from home and diligently balancing studies and training.

Yao Youmi, who has cerebral palsy, has consistently shown a positive and proactive spirit, continuously pushing his boundaries. He had previously received the Presidential Education Award in elementary and middle school. The "Spirit of Perseverance Award" specifically acknowledges his tenacious pursuit of education against considerable odds.
