Fram climbs to second place with win over Val, who suffer third straight loss

Fram achieved a significant away win, defeating Val 3-2 in the Bestu deild men's football league. This victory propels Fram into second place in the standings with 33 points, while KR sits third with 32. Val, conversely, experienced their third consecutive league loss, leaving them in fifth place with 19 points.

Val started strongly, taking the lead in the ninth minute with a remarkable goal from Lúkas Logi Heimisson, who skillfully beat a defender and fired the ball into the far corner. However, Fram responded with an impressive seven-minute spell in the first half.

Freyr Sigurðsson equalized for Fram in the 22nd minute after a good assist from Ægir Jarl Jónasson. Haraldur Einar Ásgrímsson then scored from close range just three minutes later, marking his second consecutive game with a goal. The Brazilian player Fred extended Fram's lead to 3-1 in the 28th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by Bjarni Mark Antonsson. Fram maintained this two-goal advantage into halftime.

In the second half, Val found a lifeline when Lúkas Logi Heimisson scored his second goal in the 53rd minute, narrowing the deficit. Val's challenge became more difficult when Bjarni Mark Antonsson received his second yellow card in the 68th minute, reducing them to ten men. Despite Val's efforts to equalize and Fram's counter-attacking threats, no further goals were scored, securing Fram's victory.
