Free Electricity Connections Bring Light to Poso Residents

In Tegal Rejo village, Poso, Central Sulawesi, residents who previously lacked access to electricity have now received free electricity meter installations. This initiative, a joint effort by the Gerakan Kristiani Indonesia Raya (GEKIRA) and the state electricity company PT PLN (Persero), addresses the ongoing challenge of limited electricity access in many Indonesian regions.

Yeremias Ndoen, Secretary General of PP GEKIRA, emphasized that electricity is more than just lighting; it is fundamental for children's education, family economic activities, community safety, and overall quality of life. He highlighted that providing electricity access is a crucial step in ensuring equitable opportunities for community welfare and development.

Ndoen expressed appreciation for PLN's commitment to providing fair energy access and underscored the necessity of collaboration between government bodies, state-owned enterprises, community organizations, and all national elements to ensure development benefits are widely shared. This partnership exemplifies the synergy required for widespread infrastructure improvements.
