Asharq Al-Awsat has obtained exclusive details of a significant new proposal aimed at bringing peace and stability to the Gaza Strip. This initiative, spearheaded by prominent mediators including Nickolay Mladenov, and involving representatives from Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the United States, centers on the critical issue of disarmament.

The proposal, described as a "roadmap," outlines 15 provisions for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025. It is designed to facilitate the full implementation of a comprehensive peace plan for Gaza. A senior Hamas source confirmed that the proposal has been conveyed to Israel, with potential discussions to commence in Cairo as early as Wednesday.
