Gaziantep Highway Tragedy: Father and Son Die in Horrific Truck Collision, Youngest Son Critical

A devastating collision on the Gaziantep-Nizip D-400 highway has claimed the lives of a father and his son, plunging a family into mourning and highlighting the persistent dangers of our roadways. The accident, which occurred late last night near Çaybaşı Mahallesi, saw a passenger car driven by İbrahim Açıkgöz, 50, rear-end a truck operated by Hasan Ö., 27.

The impact was catastrophic, reducing the car to a mangled wreck. İbrahim Açıkgöz and his 20-year-old son, Ahmet, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to area hospitals. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, both succumbed to their wounds. Their bodies were later released to their families for burial in their hometown of Karkamış.

Tragically, the family's youngest son, 14-year-old Baran Açıkgöz, also suffered critical injuries and is currently fighting for his life. The driver of the truck, Hasan Ö., has been taken into custody, and authorities have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding this horrific crash. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for constant vigilance and adherence to traffic laws on our busy highways.
