Germany braces for showers and thunderstorms as temperatures cool

Berlin and Brandenburg residents can expect a cooling trend and a chance of thunderstorms on Friday, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). Highs will range from 28 degrees Celsius in Prignitz to around 34 degrees in Niederlausitz.

Localized heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the afternoon, with the risk of severe weather, including intense rainfall, hail, and strong gusts, particularly in the northeast. The evening and night will see more frequent and powerful thunderstorms moving in from the southwest.

Saturday's forecast predicts partly cloudy skies with intermittent rain and isolated thunderstorms, some with heavy rainfall. The clouds are expected to break from the northwest as the day progresses, with temperatures ranging from 23 to 27 degrees Celsius. Sunday will be changeable, featuring a mix of sun and clouds, with a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly to between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius.
