Golfphoria 2026: Bali Tournament Strengthens Sport Tourism with Festival Vibe

Bali International Golf (BIG) has once again presented Golfphoria, its annual tournament that has become a highlight in Bali's golf calendar. For 2026, the event was expanded, aiming to provide a festival-like experience rather than a conventional competition, underscoring BIG's commitment to offering unique golf events each year.

This year's Golfphoria embraced a 'Reggae' theme, infusing a relaxed and colorful atmosphere into the sport. With 312 participants, the tournament also pursued a significant goal: to be recognized by Guinness World Records. The verification process for this record is ongoing, with official results expected after the event concludes. This follows their previous achievement of a MURI record for the largest virtual golf tournament in Indonesia.

The tournament took place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with tee times in the morning and afternoon, followed by a gala dinner. Participants experienced a virtual golf simulation on the renowned Royal Portrush Dunluce Links in Northern Ireland, allowing them to play on an iconic course without leaving Bali.

True to its spirit of being "more exciting, more fun, more crazy," Golfphoria 2026 offered substantial prizes. These included hole-in-one rewards, a grand lucky draw featuring a motorcycle and luxury vacation packages, cash prizes, and various golf accessories. The event was supported by 47 sponsors and strategic partners, fostering collaboration across sports, entertainment, lifestyle, and tourism sectors.

Beyond the competition, Golfphoria is designed to be inclusive. "Golfphoria was born from the belief that golf is for everyone, not just a select few. We intentionally package it like a festival, with music and competitions, so that anyone feels welcome on the course," said Sayyid Haekal, President Director of Bali International Golf. This inclusive ethos is also reflected in the "Everyone Can Golf, Everyone Deserves a Chance" social responsibility program, which supports underprivileged children in Denpasar.
