IKN Spokesperson Troy Pantouw Dies at 58

Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, a spokesperson and special staffer for the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN), passed away at the age of 58 on Saturday, July 25, 2026. His death was confirmed as natural by the medical team at Hermina Hospital IKN.

Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi, Deputy Head of Development Control at the IKN Authority, stated that Pantouw was taken to the hospital at 12:45 PM WITA and was pronounced deceased at 2:25 PM WITA. "At 2:25 PM WITA, the doctor confirmed he had passed away due to natural causes," Bolodadi said, as quoted by Antara.

Pantouw was found in his room at the ASN 3 Tower 6 dormitory in IKN. Bolodadi, who was Pantouw's neighbor, recounted that Pantouw had been active earlier that morning and was scheduled to travel to Balikpapan. When Pantouw did not respond to calls or knocks, his door was forced open, revealing him lying on his bed. There were no signs of violence, though he had a history of hypertension.

Pantouw's career included significant roles in communication and public relations. According to his LinkedIn profile, he focused on digital marketing and communication, media, public relations, and corporate social responsibility. He served as a Special Staffer to the Head of the IKN Authority since March 2023. Previously, he held positions such as Senior Consultant at AIS Training & Consulting, Head of Advocacy, Campaigns, Communication, and Media at Save the Children Indonesia, Head of Public Communications for the COVID-19 Task Force, and Strategic Partnership Advisor at Katadata.co.id.

He pursued higher education at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya, earning a degree in Psychology, and later obtained a master's degree in Media and Communication from Birmingham City University in the UK. He also completed a short certification program in public relations at Henley Business School.
